| Help! Spaghetti OK, My dear dear husband left his leftover dinner next to the couch tonight and we just realized one of our babies had a tasty snack. I'm trying not to be crabby at him... but the sauce had dehydrated onions in it. How sick is my baby going to be tonight? (I'm making my husband sleep next to the baby on the futon tonight to watch over him!) |

| I know they say to never give a puppy/Yorkie especially onions but my sister in law gives hers BOTH garlic AND onions! That dog is almost 17 and she's been doing this forever. Must be that we live in a huge Italian family and it's in our blood system. I wouldn't ever feed my little girl an onion but I think if it was an accident, there's a chance she will be A-OK! =) Just keep your eye on her during the night and maybe call the vet in the morning if she's acting non-furbaby like. Dehydrated onions might be ok....? |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I hope your little one is OK. Don't be too hard on your DH, their just men. Please let us know if babykins becomes ill in case that ever happens at our house. I know it was an accident and it could have happened to anybody. These little piglets love a forbidden snack. Come to think of it......I do too. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Onions have a substance that can build up over time and be harmful, I would worry more about the fat in the sauce, than the onions and garlic. She may get diarrhea, and I would get some cleaner out for hubby.

haha - oh yes!!!! I would definitely make him clean it up...I would say that you would most likely just have to watch out for the diarrhea...but I would suggest the vet if anything else seems off for your furbaby.

| OH yes.... He WILL be cleaning up! So far nothing unusual but we will see. Last weekend I began switching their food to something new and both of them had upset tummies... so I am done cleaning up after them for awhile! |

| I know how bad onions and garlic are for our furbabies, but my dh ALWAYS insists on giving our babies leftovers, I tell him NO!!! He then tries to guilt me and tells the girls how mean I am.... My maltese lived to be almost 19 and my other is now 10 and is in fantastic health... I am REALLY trying my best to put my foot down with Gigi, I think it will help that I am going to start making their food, prayerfully this will solve the problem. Funny, my dh always tells everyone he doesn't have a dog and these are ONLY my babies, BUT he is ALWAYS giving them treats and they worship the ground he walks on!

| I agree 100% I am very blessed they have had no illness from the onions or garlic, Praise The Lord!! Since we've gotten GiGi I have been successful at stopping him, he even bought them plain cheese burgers the other night and I was able to convince him "NO people food as she is much too young" ~grin~ And of course it's much easier to tell him how unfair it would be to GiGi if he gave anything to Shy'la....lol I believe after 21 years my dh is learning a new trick!!! lol

He would just think I have him on another diet, which actually, is a pretty good idea
