| Prayers for your little guy. I know that a lot of people don't recommend SD but Murfee is 6 years old and that is all that he has been on. My vet also recommended it. In fact my last two dogs were fed nothing but Science Diet. Good luck.

| I've never fed science diet but my husband fed his last yorkie SD - that has been about 6 years ago, though. I have heard that the ingredients in SD (mainly corn) can cause skin problems and allergies. I've never heard of it making them sick, though. If you think it is an allergic reaction making him sick you could switch to an allergy formula. Natural Balance has several allergy formulas and they offer samples. You can find NB at PetCo or other specialty pet food stores. I have also heard the reason most vets recommend science diet is because they sell it at their practice. I also heard there is not much teaching on diets or nutrition in vet school and what is taught is usually sponsored by a pet food brand, such as science diet. You might want to call your vet and see if there is something else you can try. The boiled chicken sounds like a good idea, though. Very bland...maybe just keep trying that? Luckly my babies have never been sick, though. So, I'd go with calling the vet - see what they recommend. |

| Is it made by Blue Buffalo? If so, I have heard good things about that brand. Never fed it personally but heard it's high quality. PetSmart carries it...and so does PetCo. |

| The chicken baby food is a good idea, also. It would save you loads of time and there are no additives in baby food so it is perfectly safe to give them, especially on an upset tummy. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry you baby is sick. Could it be HGE? My Cali had that a few months ago and was really sick. The key is quick medical help which you did. I feed my 3 California Natural and their health biscuits and Zuke's natural treats that's it. Any variation in her diet gives her tummy problems. Also when Cali got the HGE, I took her to the ER and they didn't diagnose her with it they gave me some medicine for her stomach and sent her home. 2 days later she was worse so I took her to my regular vet and she did a test called a PCV(packed cell volume) and it was over 60 so they diagnosed her with HGE and kept her for the day on IV fluids and medicines, I took her home at night and they left the IV port in and I took her back the next day to stay for the day and have more treatment. So if your little guy is no better I would get him in again. I hope he feels better soon.

YT 3000 Club Member | the blue buffalo is much better the the science diet, the vets recommend it because they get a kick back from it, they also use exoythiqin in their food, a preservative that is not good and is banned in europe I do believe, I spelled it wrong hope your fur baby is better soon, remember transition a new food over a week or so. |

| I hope and pray your little one will be just fine. I know how terrified you are, Winston too had a bout with HGE and was a very sick little man. After the vets treatments he was fed stage 2 baby food for a few days then finally his appetite improved. I have tried Blue Buffalo food...Winston wouldn't eat it. Because of other health issues, I just can't let him miss meals, his sugar goes too low and he has seizures. Science Diet is the only food I am confident he will eat religiously...so Science Diet it is.

She has been on Hills ID formula ever since and thank goodness has been doing well....although she and her sissy seems to have caught some "bug" that has been going around this week, but this is nothing like the HGE episode. I hope your baby is feeling better real soon!
