My Tawny had HGE as well. The vet told us to feed her strictly low fat cottage cheese and rice for 2 weeks....nothing else. And she seemed to recover just fine and has not had a reoccurance. I feed Taste of The Wild to my yorkies and Tawny seems to have had luck with that food and her condition.

Good luck..I know it's scary to have a sick pup

mine had 2 episodes and vomits blood and has HEG; after the last time at the hospital i switch her food and she's doing better now; no more vomiting; the vet told me to feed her 4 small meals a day; instead of 2 large ones.
for breakfast i feed her cooked otameal with gerber baby food (banana, beef and apple); and for the other 3 meals i feed her the honest kitchen force; adn i add probiotic, digesitve enzymes, and vitamins. good luck
