| Thanks for the coupon!! I think cooking it would be counterproductive to serving raw. I not only nuke for 10 seconds because my girls don't like it cold but because I mix it with a bit of kibble, and it mixes easier that way. I like mixing a little NV kibble mainly because I want them to have some hard food on their teeth. I don't believe a totally soft diet is good for dental health. I dump the large bags into gallon freezer zip locs and throw them in the freezer. I just reach in and grab a couple medallions from each bag and throw those in my fridge container for daily use. I don't really worry about contaminants because I figure they're frozen rock solid, and are not going to be in the freezer long enough to be a concern in the long term. The ziplocs are easier to open and close than the original bags the product comes in. That way they get a variety every day. Someone on another thread remarked that they lived near this company and it was a client of theirs in some capacity and they had actually visited the plant. They said it was remarkably clean and had no odor or something to that effect. If you search, you'll find it. At any rate, they were impressed. Oh, and where I purchase my food, he said that for whatever reason, the freeze dried is good for short term, like a week or two, when you are in a situation such as traveling or vacation, when frozen is not feasible. It is not suitable for serving your pet long term, you may want to research further into why that is. I don't know if the quality is inferior or what.

| I've been feeding Zoe NV raw medallions since we got her at the end of August. She LOVES them so much! I started with the chicken and now she's on the beef. I can't tell if she likes one better than the other - she gobbles it ALL up!! ![]() I didn't love using a bowl or plate for the raw so I bought some of the little paper plates - and they're perfect! As soon as she's done eating - I can just toss it away! No germs - no worries about having to clean it. ![]() |

| thanks for everyone's reply; however, i tried one medalion on friday; and 5 min after she ate it she threw up 4 times; she was gaging and coughing and was really sick; i guess 100% raw is not so great for her since she has the gastritis and sensitive stomach; so i am going to stick to the honest kitchen. thanks again.

| The baggy idea is great!! I'm trying to go green so I use individual plastic rubbermaid containers (the size for condiments/salad dressing.) Snick gets 2 medallions a day so I have 6 in the fridge at a time (3 days worth). I also only touch the medallion once, while putting it into the containers. Then I dump the medallion into a stainless steal dish and cut it up and serve it. Great suggestions!! -Snick & Viv

| It seems like the majority of people on this site are feeding NV, many of which are feeding the raw. Now I have a question, and it may be stupid....can your dog kiss you after he eats, or could that transmit salmonella and other raw food diseases? |
