Vetinsurance or Petsecure Hi there I am a Rep here in Ontario for Vetinsurance, to declare myself right off. But I also have had my 3 GSPs insured and have made claims too. I also pay the same as everyone, no breaks on premiums. We promise in writing to never change the co-insurance or premium due to the pet aging or claims, plus there are no limits per claim, other than the maximum $20,000 that 99.9% of all out clients will never reach. The co-insurance will never change from 90%. If you'd like to see what our clients really say about us, check out an interesting website called www.petinsurancereview.com . PS has age-based deductibles, starts at 80% co-insurance and limited yearly maximum claims, Level 2 is a typical coverage level due to premium costs, yet max claim per year is $2500 per condition. Check out our website where you can look at a comparison sheet and see the differences www.vetinsurance.com , I think you'll agree that we have a superior policy and very fast claims process (plus I think we are cheaper than PS, generally). Have a great day, Todd Bowman Cambridge, ON

| In my humble opinion... neither. Start a savings account for your monkey. That way if you ever need the money for any emergency it's there. No worries if the insurance will cover a certain procedure or not. Also if you never need it you still have your money.

A savings account is a great idea....unfortunately I've never met anyone who has the discipline to do it, plus it takes literally years to put aside enough to cover for anything beyond minor Vet care. The other problem is after a few years there may be enough...then February hits and the vet fund starts looking a lot like a trip to Cancun For most people, insurance is a good bet.

Vetinsurance vs. Petsecure My name is Randy and I am the President of Petsecure. First off, insuring your pet with any pet insurance company in Canada is better than no insurance at all. Simply putting money into a savings account rarely works for a number of reasons. First off is that you never know what the timing of an illness or accident might be, hopefully never, but it is also possible something could happen within the first month of you opening up your special savings account. I also agree with the tbmbow and also believe that most people don't have the discipline to leave the money in the account and not use it for something else that may arise, i.e. house or car repairs. As for which pet insurance product you should get - Vetinsurance or Petsecure; both companies are good, Petsecure has been around for 20 years and Vetinsurance for 10 years, so you should feel confident that both companies are well established. Some of the information the tbmbow posted is misleading, while he is right that our Secure 2 plan offers $2,500 per condition, what he didn't state is that it is $2,500 per condition per year. We cover over 150 different conditions and the $2,500 renews every year, so you have far more than $20,000 available to you. You can also check out our website at www.petsecure.com, but you won't find any comparisons of our product against our competitors because we don't believe in that type of advertising as it is impossible to do an apples to apples comparison due to the difference in our products compared to theirs. I can tell you that we are the oldest and largest pet insurance company in Canada and we offer great customer service. If you are interested in learning more about Petsecure or wish to receive a quote please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@petsecure.com or me personally at rvalpy@petseure.com.

I agree that any insurance is better than no insurance. Plus, I wanted to point out that what Mr. Valpy pointed out was correct, PS Level 2 coverage is $2500 per condition per year, which I neglected to mention. I didn't intend to mislead anyone, I overlooked it and I apologise for the error.

Petsecure Hi we were using Petsecure but cancelled. They were very good to deal with but keept changing their policies, it was frustrating. They drastically changed their conditions for dental and I just couldn't trust them any more. Good luck!
