| One of the hardest things about owning a yorkie is trying to explain (convince) other people that these little ones are different and, absolutely, positively, can not have anything outside their very restricted diet...My friends and family think I'm over the top w/a neurosis about what Apple can have and can not have, but they haven't seen the issues I've had to deal w/by trial and error on allowing her a "little bit of this and a little bit of that"...I've just decided they can think what they want, but my little girl is not to have anything that I don't, personally, set before her...And I've threatened everyone, within an inch of their lives, if they dare give her anything...I've also noticed I tend to gravitate towards people that own yorkies for my outings and visits, and not so much w/the other people...lol.... |

| it's really frustrating isn't it!? i just makes me feel terrible because i know it's not my fault it's dad's fault and in your case his mother and they aren't the ones dealing with it all night long, loosing sleep, bathing babies, doing laundry, and feeling so scared and worried about them....they need to realize it's not NO BIG DEAL like they think it is, they are making our kids sick and could kill them. |

| It is extremely difficult to make people understand. You just have to be firm with them. I personally loved the flyswatter idea. ![]() But, if all else fails, when people are eating around her, just pick her up so that they cannot give her anything! I would not leave her alone with anyone who was not on the same page. Sure...they could give you money for the treatment for pancreatitis which is not cheap...assuming she did not get sick enough to die! Scary thought....

| Well my baby seems much better today! I think my boyfriend's mother feels really bad, she just didn't know, and the best thing that my girls fine today but also I didn't have to say anything to his mother because my boyfriend was the one that got thrown up on and right after stepped in the poop LOL (after the fact) but yeah I never feed my babies any human food I learned my lesson when they were puppies, many nights of waking up to this when they were babies. |

![]() Okay, just call her up and say "Judy (whatever her name is) you won't believe what happened last night...my poor babies were sick all over the bed...it was awful....and she says...OMG what do you think it was...and you say...I don't know but I saw Sweet Potatoe Fries in the mess so I called the vet and he said you can't feed these little ones anything but dog food and maybe some vegetables and dog treats. They are so small it can kill them in a New York Second. While it is true...let the vet take the hit..

| aWW Rachel I am just seeing this thread!!! Sounds like Sadie is doing better!!! It is an on going battle with everyone trying to give our dogs food they cant have. Im not going to lie me and dh just 100% completly STOPPED giving peanut anything !! It has been very hard, but we are doing it. When we are eating dinner I will pull a Ceaser Millian on peanut and make him lay in his bed =) its training in the process but he is getting better at it!! I will only give peanut a little yogurt/cottage chesse and if he is lucky every once in a while he gets a little string chesse But thats it!! No more daddy's chicken, wheat thins..ergh you name it pnt ate it!That way when they do get tummy aches you dont have to worry like " omg what did i give him? what did he eat?... I want peanut to live as long as he can I dont want him to get get sick bc of me giving him table food ! =) So if that means I have to look at those sad little puppy dog eyes look at me while I am eating my BBQ CHICKEN then im sorry!! Its for your own good!!
