| baby teeth at 9 months So my yorkie still has 2 baby teeth at 9 months. Should I wait for them to fall out? They are still pretty firm. I checked with the vet to see how much it would cost to remove that they quoted me 500 dollars. Is that not a lot of money? |

| Really? 260 for all of that? Hum, I'm in wisconsin, I didn't think it would cost that much. Anyone keep their pups teeth in for a while? |

| Apple is 11 months old, and still has two top canine teeth (along side of her adult teeth)...The vet said we would have to pull them at 1 yr. old, if they weren't out...I was soooooo planning not to spay Apple 'till she was 18 months old, but I'm at a loss as what to do now...She needs those teeth out next month, and, ideally, it would be best to spay at the same time, but I so wanted to wait...But in answer to your question, my vet said you could wait 'till they were a year old, but no longer...BTW, his fees are through the roof, so $500 sounds normal to me...I just wish the vets down here in the Houston area weren't so darn expensive...All the best to you and the babe... |

YT Addict | You might want to check the local Humane Society in your area....they are very affordable...when I had my Bryan neutered it cost me $48 dollars....Yes this is not a type-o...it was $43 dollars for the neuter and $5 to remove the only baby tooth he had left...Check it out

| May I ask when you plan to? It makes sense to do the two things at the same time because Yorkies should not go under to many times. If you don't pull the teeth you could have more problems down the road with decay and it does not help their bite to leave the baby teeth in the mouth.

| I'm not sure right now, I guess thats why I'm here asking questions. I know they have to come out, but I really do not have the 500 dollars to have them pulled. |

| My Stormy had a couple extra baby teeth when I got her at 1.5 years old. She was going to have them removed but they fell out on their own with lots of chewing bones and playing. |

| Should you change your mind in getting your Yorkie fix, then have the vet pull out all the baby teeth and neuter at the same time, cheaper and better for the dog. Otherwise, $ 500.00 becomes $1000.00. |

| Bandit got neutered and his two double rows of teeth pulled at 7 months, and Nala will be going in for her Spay in 2 weeks (she'll be 6 months) and her top and bottom teeth JUST started falling out, so any that are still left the vet will take out. I would assumed they should be as out on their own as they will be by 8 or 9 months. |
