| New yorkie - does the brand of the 3 step vaccine matter? Our baby girl has received her first vaccine on September 11th, She's do for the 2nd vaccine on the 26th... and the 3rd weeks after that.. The first vaccine was Nobivac, does this mean that the 2nd and 3rd also have to be the same brand? The reason we're wondering is because in our local town at the vet they don't use Nobivac, they use something else but the vet said the make up of the vaccine is the same as nobivac, it does the same thing.. Should we find a vet somewhere else that has nobivac, or is it ok to change brand names? thanks |

| It will be okay. It looks like there is only about 15 days between the first two sets though. It is really better to wait a bit longer. How old is she?

In one study of a cross section of different puppies the age at which they were able to respond to a vaccine and develop protection covered a wide period of time. At six weeks of age, 25% of the puppies could be immunized. At 9 weeks of age, 40% of the puppies were able to respond to the vaccine. The number increased to 60% by 16 weeks, and by 18 weeks of age, 95% of the puppies could be immunized. Parvovirus: Serious Diarrhea in Puppies & Dogs | |
