Thank you for your concern....So sorry to hear what you had to go through with your boxers...so very sad.....I can't blame you for not wanting to go through that again....even though you raised 3 healthy and happy puppies it just tears your heart out when something like that happens....my little one is doing as well as we could have hoped for....she is gaining weight everyday...she is now up to 8oz today,,,,and being very sassy.....everytime i fed her today..she peed all over me...I am hoping her eyes will open tomorrow...i see her brother and sisters are starting to open today...it wil be oneless thing to worry about once the eyes are open....you know when there is one birth defect there is the possibilities of others...so I guess i will be relieved to see that there are eyes underneath those lids....i just can't relax and be happy that she is gaining weight...i always have to be thinking of the "what ifs"...today was the first day i was trying to come up with a name for her (we are keeping her) its a very difficult thing to do.....I want something special....looking for ideas if you have any???thanks again for everyones concern.....

| So she is 2 weeks old now right? I think that is really good then if she is gaining weight and is active. I really think if she is already 14 days that is a good sign. I didnt realize it takes that long for yorkie pups to open thier eyes. My boxer pups didnt take long at all.

That's is a great suggestion. I like it. Good luck with your little one it sounds like she is doing very well under the circumstances. I'm so glad for you. Keep up the good work and continue to keep us posted.

Thanks for the suggestion...however we have decided to name her...."Elizabeth Myeisha KT" Lizzy for short......Elizabeth means < by God>...and Myeisha means..<he who is loved greatly> KT stands for my children Kelsey and Trevor.... Her Eyes opened yesterday...we were quite surprised since her brothers are not....which I am beginning to worry about...since they were two weeks old on yesterday....but if there is one thing I have learned through this whole thing is "patience"

She is most definitely a blessing. Is she still eating good? You decided to keep her right? Good luck. The others will open their eyes before you know it. Mollie's were over 2 weeks old before they all had their eyes open. It will be worth the wait. I do like the name Lizzy we had a yellow lab at one time and that was her name.

I definitely could not give her up either. We kept one of Mollie's the one we were going to give to our 26 year old son. But, he was killed in an accident when they were only a week old. I just couldn't bear to part with him. He is 9 weeks old now. Fiesty. I think I remember reading on here that you are bottle feeding her. The other 2 are getting all of mom's milk so they are just eating her share as well and have gotten use to it. I really wouldn't worry too much about it at this time. If you do start to really worry about it just ask your vet and see what they have to say. Have you posted any pictures of your babies yet? I don't remember I didn't read through the thread again. So forgive me. Is it bad enough to where she is going to need surgery when she gets old enough? Just keep up the good work with her. Thanks for keeping us posted.

| I am so very sorry to hear about your son.....the absolute worse thing anyone can go through.....I'm sure the puppy is so very precious to you.....is he named after your son??? We will be posting pictures hopefully Sunday night..if we can figure out how to do it...we tried last night but didn't get it to work....(their posted somewhere we just don't know where..lol) We are going out of town tomorrow (yes with the puppies) for a wedding so we won't have time to mess with it until Sunday..... She will need surgery when she gets bigger. I'll ask more questions the next time I see the vet....Thanks for your comments and concern especially with all the you have been through...you are in my prayers........ |

Thanks. Yes it has been very difficult. I just don't know what we would do without him. I named him Wyatt Samuel. Sam was our son. You guys have a good trip. Have fun at the wedding.
