Donating YT 7000 Club Member | adult puppy food vs. puppy.... this is probably a really stupid question, but at what age should you start feeding them adult dog food this question has been bugging me for the last 5 minutes, i figured i should get an answer, lol

| My vet said you should not switch them before 12 months. He said yorkies can stay on it a little longer even since they are small dogs.

| I heard around a year on here as well. However my vet told me to stop around 6 months. Basically the rule of thumb is when they stop growing, no matter what breed, they go off puppy food, with an exception here and there. Many large breed dogs go off puppy food sooner though because they are growing too quick for their bones, both my bloodhound and lab were taken off puppy food fairly early at my vets request.
