| Best foods? Treats? I am currently feeding Penny Royal Canin Yorkie Food. She doesn't seem to dislike it but she also doesnt love it. It seems as though she is picky and prefers other dog food such as Beneful (sp?) thats not for yorkies. (I do not feed her this, however she sneaks it from my bfs families dog.) I was told Canin is a great quality food. I just recently bought her a can of Instinct raw food? I was told this would be good for her digestive tract and keeping tartar to a minimal. She seems to like it, or did.. first time she ate the entire bowl.. but this morning when I fed her her first meal.. she ate very little.. it sat there til dinner time and she only picked at it. So this morning I replaced it again.. she ate some.. left the rest? Could her medication be making her lose her appetite? I gave her her meds after she attempted to eat.. Any yummier yorkie foods out there? Also, could someone suggest some good healthy treats? Preferably treats with natural ingredients or more towards a healthier diet. Penny is 1 year and 2 days old. Thank you Le & Penny |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | What meds is she on? The canned food isn't raw, but that is a good food ! I used to feed Natures Variety Raw Frozen. I feed raw, but like these kibbles: Orijen, Solid Gold Barking at The Moon, Innova Small Bites Red...to name a few. For treats, I use bully sticks and CET chews.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I use bully sticks for treats. Nolee is very picky also and has always been. He is now on Natural Balance.

| Jackson is a very finicky eater and has barely ever eaten just dry food w/o wet or something else yummy mixed in -- four days ago, I started him on Nature's Variety Instinct (Turkey & Duck flavor) and he LOVES it. He's been chowing down for four days now, just dry. Amazing for him. I highly recommend it. It's a bit higher in protein (35%) but it's got great ingredients and he's been pooping only 2x a day now (he used to go 3x) As for treats, he's picky with those too. He loves to chew on a bully stick, those are his chew treats. He loves the Wellness little treats, they're little square shaped. He also likes the Bil Jac liver treats. Chicken jerky. Anything meaty- he loves.

| I'm not sure about the meds, but if you're wanting to change her food, Ann named some good brands...Orijen, SG Barking at The Moon, and Innova. You don't have to necissarily feed a yorkie specific formula. For treats, I give Bully Sticks, Pig Ears, and CET HEXtra dental chews. Hope that helps! |

| If you baby is on meds, you should make sure that you get something that will work well with those. Check the ingredients on whatever you select. Avoid corn, wheat or soy, and by-products. Transition slowly so your baby doesn't get tummy upset. As far as treats, my girls LOVE their bullies!! We get them from AMD. They are the best!!! |

YT 3000 Club Member | chester has done very small on solid gold, I dont do the high protein personally. merrick, solid gold, innova, natural balance, wellness are some good foods and of course the ones mentioned already with the higher protein. Transition over a week or so to a different food. |
