| How important is their weight? My Ginger is 17 weeks old and weighs 5 1/2 lbs. How much bigger might she get? I was told that her mother weighed 6 lbs and her dad weighed 5. It kind of makes you wonder if the dogs that they showed me were really her parents. I was wanting a smaller dog but now after seeing SOME of the smaller ones and seeing how wispy and thin their hair is and fragile looking, I know that Ginger was meant to be my dog and I wouldn't trade her for any of the 2-3 lbers. She is the sweetest and cutest dog their is. I can't wait to take pictures and let every one see her. Because a teapot can hold more sugar than a teacup. lol This site has been very helpful to me. |

| You can never know for sure what size your pup will be. They are like children--by the time they grow up, you are in love with them and things like that don't matter. My Daisy is 2 now and I thought she was done growing at 7 lbs at 1 1/2. Now she is around 8 lbs. I am very happy with her size and wouldn't mind a bigger one. You still have to be careful of them, but they are not as delicate. I hope you will post some picttures of Ginger so we can check her out. Tell more about her and what funny things she does. This is my first Yorkie experience and I did not know they spin!!! Cracks me up every time! |

| You can never know! I love my big 13lb boy (his parents were 7 and 8 pounds) with all my heart and he STILL seems sooo small to me! I can't imagine having to worry about a 2-4lber myself! The little ones are so super adorable though - just not for me, and that's no offense to those who own smaller ones! I prefer his size

| "because a teapot can hold more sugar then a teacup" Ohhhh how I love this My Suzi , is perfect. ANd i do not even know how much she weighs! Somewhere between 7-8 LBS . She seems small to me, for a full grown dog she is still little. Her mother only had 3 puppies, and she was the only female. As long as your Yorkie is healthy it does not matter how big or small you have em. However, I worry about the little tiny ones, because they are so delicate and fragile . Their adorable as can be, but, I'd be a nervous wreck owning one.

| I feel like I'm weird because I keep hoping my little Yorkie will gain a few pounds!! She was "predicted" to be about seven pounds full grown and she's currently five months old and only weighs 3.4 lbs. I don't necessarily mind having a smaller dog, but they just seem so...fragile. I had a five pound poodle and if he was even slightly ill, he'd drop nearly a pound. Things that wouldn't usually be a danger became dangerous quickly with him. Chloe free feeds so I know she gets plenty of food...she's just not putting on the weight!!! -C

| Gingers Weight Ginger is the sweetest dog that I have ever been around and I really don't care how much she weighs. When she looks at you with those big brown, loving , trusting eyes, my heart just melts. I do love her just as she is. She is very cuddly too! She is #1 to me. (I do love my husband too, but he doesn't listen or obey as well as Ginger) Thanks for your input. |

| It is nice that you are happy with her the way she is. So many people are obsessed with the weight. Makes you wonder if they got a child that turned out to be the wrong size if they would still like it. |

| My Maddie's birth mother was about 7 lbs. her father was around 5 lbs. Maddie how ever takes after 'real' Mommy, me, and is healthy. LOL She weighed 12.2 lbs today at the vet. However, she looks and feels great and I wouldn't change her at all! |

| Kayla is 8lbs. and to me she is just right. If we would happen to step on her it wouldn't kill her. Dudley is 5mo. old and is still around the 2lbs 9oz. he was. He is soooooo tiny it scares me to death. We have to constantly watch him and I just live in fear of him getting hurt. He eats like a little pig and runs and plays like he is as big as the other 3. I am just praying this little guy gets to 3lbs. before time to have him fixed. I don't know if I can do it with him this small. If anything happened to him we would never get over it. I too, prefer them to be bigger. We just didn't know how little he was going to be. (he is absolutely precious though) |
