| Banana Treats Help Please I lost my banana treat recipe and I need to make treats today. No time to order from Cindy, so maybe someone has a recipe that is: Grain free with the exception of oatmeal Soy free Meat, poultry and egg free Dairy free I am finding pupcake recipes but they come out way too soft. These don't have to be hard, but they do need to hold a bone shape...I need to be able to carry them outside without having a mess to clean up. Anyone?

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I don't know if you can use this.. Egg substitutes - Egg Replacer - Baking Substitute - Egg Allergies - Ener-G Egg Replacer What is a good substitute for eggs? • Ener-G Egg Replacer - follow directions on box. • 2 tbsp cornstarch = 1 egg • 2 tbsp arrowroot flour = 1 egg • 2 tbsp potato starch = 1 egg • 1 heaping tbsp soy powder + 2 tbsp water = 1 egg • 1 tbsp soy milk powder + 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water = 1 egg. • 1 banana = 1 egg in cakes. 1 tbsp milled flax seed and 3 tbsp water = 1 egg. Light, fluffy cakes

| This has flour in it, and egg but the previous poster listed egg substitutes. It was created for a dog that has numerous food allergies. I'll see if I can find any other recipes. Rose's Banana Biscotti 4 cups flour 1 cup oatmeal (ground fine) 1/4 cup olive oil or vegetable oil 1 egg 1 1/2 cup pureed banana 3 Tablespoons brown sugar 1/3 cups well chopped peanuts 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons vanilla

| Thank you both. I think I will just use extra banana in place of the egg and see how it goes.

| Clearly you want a cookie-type...but until you can order your usual treats, maybe you could just give actual banana chunks? I just give Zoey little pieces of assorted fruit, which put her right into full-blown ecstasy. I am a lazy woman, though, and Zoey adores all food...

I used the first recipe, left out the peanuts and added extra banana to replace the egg. It worked just fine and Ellie loves them.

YT 1000 Club Member | For Future Reference I found this online, thought it looked good enough to share. Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits NGREDIENTS (Nutrition) 1 egg 1/3 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup mashed banana 1 tablespoon honey 1 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup wheat germ 1 egg white, lightly beaten, for brushing DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet. Stir together the egg, peanut butter, banana, and honey in a medium bowl; blend thoroughly. Stir in the flour and wheat germ; mix well. Turn dough out onto a floured board and roll to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes with a cookie cutter, place on prepared baking sheet, and brush tops with egg white. Bake biscuits in preheated oven until dried and golden brown, about 30 minutes, depending on size. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.

| Crystal, I know you've already made your treats but I just came across this recipe that sounds pretty good, too. A delicious recipe from MOdern Dog's Spring 09 issue: Peanut Butter and Banana Oat Drops by Gwen Burgart & Kim Forrest Ingredients 4 cups rolled oats 2 Tbsp ground flax seed 2 medium very ripe bananas 1/2 cup natural (no sugar or shortening added) peanut butter 1/2 cup water Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together oats, flax seed, bananas and peanut butter in an electric mixer. Add some water and mix well. Drop 1/2 teaspoon-sized drops onto greased cookie sheet or roll out and cut with a cookie cutter (let dough stand for a few minutes before rolling; it's sticky initially). Bake for 25 min or until golden brown. The drops last longer and are delightfully crunchy if they are placed in a dehydrator for several hours after baking to remove all moisture. This can also be done in a low temperature (170 degrees) oven.
