| Dysplasia? Has anyone had a yorkie with dyspasia? I notice that my doggie often sits with one hip to the side, I thought it was cute at first, then reading about it, I am concerned that he'll develop leg/hip/back problems... I am going to post pictures of it on my profile, so please let me know if I need to get him checked out.. and if you have had an issue with this, please share, I would appreciate it! Sara |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I had a Mastiff with hip dysplasia... I had a Mastiff with hip dysplasia and knee problems. We fixed her knees but my vet advised us against the hip replacement because of her age and because the dysplasia did not affect her daily routine. I now have a Yorkie who's hips don't look aligned properly. I think it's most often seen in the big dogs but not impossible for a small dog. I would let your vet know that you think there could be something wrong and they can x-ray. Best of luck!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yeah, my vet is very good and he pretty much knew before taking the x-rays that my Mastiff had it. The x-ray will confirm it either way. If your vet feels it's unnecesary he won't even bother. Let me know what he says. Curious because my husband is convinced it only happens with the big breed dogs....not true.

| Hip problems in Yorkies are very often related to Legg Calve Perthes...
