I had a Mastiff with hip dysplasia and knee problems. We fixed her knees but my vet advised us against the hip replacement because of her age and because the dysplasia did not affect her daily routine. I now have a Yorkie who's hips don't look aligned properly. I think it's most often seen in the big dogs but not impossible for a small dog. I would let your vet know that you think there could be something wrong and they can x-ray.
