| Flea treatment help what to use Hi everyone.. my babies have fleas and are scratching I've always used frontline on Shelby Rae and Tigger but Kaylee is so little I'm not sure if that would be ok for her...we are getting the house done by an exterminator ...Kaylee is 6 months old and just over 2lbs..all advice welcomed

| She is old enough for a flea preventative but if you want a quick fix you could give her a dawn bath. Put it on lather it up and let it sit on there for 5 mins then rinse

| Yep with as small as she is I would only use 1/2 a tube. The frontline prevents against ticks also so its pretty good

| I agree with the 1/2 dose. Plus it lasts longer. I prefer using Advantage/Advantage Multi/K9 Advantix. One of those. They are all GREAT!!! Frontline never fully worked for me. Another piece of advice is to put a tiny bit of the flea preventative on the base of his/her tail as well as the usual back of the neck. Give her a chewy to chew on so she doesn't lick her butt. Good luck. |

Another suggestion might be to try the Frontline spray instead of the drops. The dosage is much easier to control with the spray (1 spray per pound of body weight), and I've found it much more economical. The spray works on fleas and ticks the same way as Frontline Plus, except I don't think it kills the flea eggs. Since you already have some fleas, you might want to use Frontline Plus this time then consider the spray for future control. Good luck!!!

In florida the Frontline spray does not work as well as the drops. But that's just from my person experience. | |
