Alison, don't let them lick it!! Either give her something to keep her occupied until it's thoroughly dried, or apply it only between the shoulder blades. I am too chicken to put it on anywhere but the shoulder blades and that's always been enough to work for me.

Another suggestion might be to try the Frontline spray instead of the drops. The dosage is much easier to control with the spray (1 spray per pound of body weight), and I've found it much more economical. The spray works on fleas and ticks the same way as Frontline Plus, except I don't think it kills the flea eggs. Since you already have some fleas, you might want to use Frontline Plus this time then consider the spray for future control. Good luck!!!
