| Question for MinkSheen Users Do you lather and rince once or twice? The bottle says lather and rince once, but I've always had to lather up twice with other shampoos. My boys get a bath once a week because they get dirty being outdoors a lot. The first time I used Minksheen, I didn't get a good lather the first time. So I had to do a second. Tonight I used another, less expensive shampoo for the first wash, then Minksheen for the second. What do you all do?

| I also try to give Mimi & Momo weekly baths w/MinkSheen. I lather them up once (I use a quarter size) & put some warm water on them to produce more lather. I let it sit for about a min then rinse well. In the colder months, I had to wrap them in a towel to keep them from becoming yorkie popsicles!

| I love minksheen. I usually only lather once, let it sit for a couple of minutes and rinse.

| Hmm...my boys must get really dirty, because I just don't get a good lather the first time. Am I the only one?

| I start at the neck just after the ears and i scrub her neck and 1/2 way down her back and the front paws. then i get a little more and wash the rest of her back and down to her back feets. then i use a toothbrush and the tearless lorel childrens shampoo for her face ( i love the way it smells ) then i just scrub her for a min or so all over (she hates just sitting there for a minute so i have to keep her entertained) and then get her out. let her run around wildly for a few minutes until she's tired and goes to the bathroom and sits. Then i blow dry her and she's perfect for another 5-7 days Hope that helps! What kind of fur/hair do your boys have? Do they require more conditioner b/c its thicker?

| I lather and rinse once. I use a good amount of the shampoo though.

| Both my boys have smooth, silky coats. And both are very thick and dense. I usually have to use a conditioner when I bathe them, otherwise it's very difficult to get the comb through. Since MinkSheen contains a condioner, I don't use one with it. But their coats aren't as smooth and easy to comb as when I use a condition.

| I wondered if using a conditioner would affect the insect repellent smell of the shampoo? Did you notice any difference?

| No you can still smell the minksheen. By the way I havent noticed any flea prevention using it. I use it because I like the shampoo

| That could be too because I only bathe them every 3 weeks. If you bathe them more often maybe theres better flea prevention i dont know

| Are you referring to the 'lather' like when we shampoo? The laurel sulfate is what makes the human shampoo lather up...it's a chemical. I don't think MinkSheen contains that. I don't know, the ingredients are not listed in the bottle...but most good quality natural pet shampoos do not contain laurel sulfate. Correction, I have to use 2 quarter size amounts when bathing Mimi & Momo. I've also found the best combo. I too use a conditioner...Tomlyn Nova Pearls Creme Rinse. It does wonders...leaves them silky soft.
