| Chester got neutered today.... and he is whining and crying so much I feel terrible. I know it was the right thing to do, but he keeps whimpering and I feel so bad about it. I already gave him his pain meds. What did you do to make your baby feel better? DF is really concerned that Chester won't be the same anymore. Did your dog change at all after being neutered?

| poor guy. If he has had his pain meds that's all you can do. He is probably sore/kinda out of it. Male dogs rebound much quicker than a female that gets spayed. I only have a female but i hear their dominance issues go away if they had any. |

| Awe...poor Chester. Like Marci said, if he already has his pain meds, just keep giving him them on the regular schedule the vet said too. My Rudy was out of it but not whining when we brought him home after his neuter. He did sleep all the rest of that day and night. The next day, you'd never know anything happened to him. So I hope that puts your hubby's mind at ease. Feel Better Soon, Chester.

| Neutering We got our almost year old male neutered on May 27. He was kind of out of it for several days so we just held him and keep him from licking his stitches. He had a undecended testicle so he has two incisions and had to have cat gut stitches which we have to take him back to get removed two weeks from surgery date. I could tell that his stitches were pulling or twanging every once in a while, but other than that he did not seem to be in any particular pain. The vet never gave me any pain meds for him, but he did not seem to need them. Within three days he was totally back to normal and there is no way we can keep him down. He is romping and stomping and jumping all over the place just like always. He weighs a little less than 7 pounds and has always been a bundle of energy and still is. I hope your baby gets to feeling better real soon. If not, call the vet and see what he has to say. |

| Since you gave him pain meds I doubt he is in much pain, it may be coming from an anesthesia hang-over. I wouldn't worry about behavioral change too much I have had several neutered with no noticeable change. He should be back to himself faster than you think. |

| I'm sure glad my vet keeps them overnight...I wouldn't know what to do if my baby boy (who got neutered already) was crying...I'd be a mess! Poor baby, just give him lots of love & his pain meds should alleviate any pain, make him comfy in his bed & keep his surroundings nice & quiet. Hope he'll feel better real soon...Momo was running around the 2nd day, I had to carry him to prevent him from hurting himself!

| Genghis was the opposite! we were told to keep him calm and not let him jump on or off stuff. After a short nap he was running around like madness and pee'd on our bed which was the first time he EVER did that. |

| Some dogs get UTI after getting spayed or neutered...maybe that's why Genghis pee-ed on mommy & daddy's bed?? I know he's not a naughty boy...

| Well, Chester has been whining a little bit today, but he is up and around just like usual....running through the house like a wild banshee, begging for human food, trying to rip my arm out of my socket by running 100 miles an hour (on a 6ft leash) trying to get to baby squirrels...

| rocky got neutered yesterday as well. when i brought him home i immediately made him a little bed to lay in. every time he tried to walk he could hardly stand up...i was so upset it broke my heart to see him like that. Today he is feeling much better. i slept on the floor with him (he normally sleeps in bed with us), in fear that he would fall off and hurt himself because of the confusion the anesthesia caused. i woke up with him on my chest licking my face!! it made me so happy. the most important thing is keep giving him his needed medications from the vet. and try not to let him run around to much or pick at the area of the incision |

| oh no, he was being naughty!! he was running at full speed around and around the room and then he jumped onto the bed, looked at us, and pee'd where he usually sleeps! It seemed like he was saying "I'll show you who has balls!" |
