| We use Interceptor, so Ellie gets dewormed monthly. I would not choose to give her a dewomer...the Interceptor just happens to do it. Otherwise she would only get dewormed if she had a positive fecal or symptoms that lead the vet to believe we needed to do it.

| on the first three set of shots is it required to have deworming first coz our vet required it. we'll be having our last set next week and we're going to take suki in first for deworming then come back four days after for the shot. is that normal?

| In my opinion, your vet shouldn't be requiring deworming if your pup's fecal sample is clean. It would make sense for them to require a fecal be done if they were going to hospitalize though. Some breeders and vets deworm often but some Yorkie breeders never deworm unless there are signs of a problem...

| this is how i do it with my litters they get dewormed at 2, 4, 6, 8 and i recommend either getting their vet to do it with their 9 week vaccination, and 12 week vaccination, i also let them know they can save money buy getting it them selves, after that i would deworm again at 6 months, unless you see worms. you can buy online the dewomers you would need and save you a bunch of money i dont understand why your vet does the dewormer and then 4 days later wants to vaccinate unless the puppy isnt ready to be vaccinated, then i would just wait on the deworming until the vaccination date, no need in paying 2 exam fees... good luck |
