| Ants!! Gross!! I went to fill up Jackson's food bowl today and there were thousands of tiny tiny tiny ants all over my floor. They're obviously coming in from outside. We live in a country area with 3 acres of land so I'm used to seeing nasty little bugs and such (hate them!!) But they were obviously attracted to Jackson's dog food and came in from outside. They're surrounding it, inside of it, etc. What is a SAFE spray I can use to kill them that won't hurt Jackson?? What's the best way to get rid of them, they're on carpet??

| I just had an exterminater come out and spray for them at my house. Ants are extremely hard to get rid of and Ive tried things you can buy before with no success.

| I am in the country, and ants are my arch enemies. Around my little guys food bowl I use cinammon, they hate the smell, and just sprinkle it all around his placemat ( I also sprinkle it around my cabinets, and anywhere else the ants like to go marching--you need to reapply about every week to keep the smell going though). A great nontoxic (and cheap) way to get rid of the ants outside is to bring a gallon of water to a boil and pour it directly on the ant hills and all around the area. You may have to use a few gallon if they are over an extensive area. |

| Ugghh! In FL we have to be on guard for ants all of the time. We've had a ton of rain and I'm having a little battle right now. The best thing I've found for the little ones that come indoors is Terro baits. You have to keep them out of reach of your dogs but trust me, the ants will find them. It is pretty gross for a day or so because you can't kill them. They have to take the bait back to their nest but in the meanwhile they will swarm the bait- nasty! It really does work well though, by far the best thing I've found. I've been lucky that they've never gone after the dog food but I've read you can put the doggie dishes in a little pan of water to keep the ants out.

| I have used in the past a pie tin with water in it and the dog food dish inside the pie tin....the ants can't get past the water to the food.
