| Okay, I seriously hope this works for some of y'all because I am just amazed! We had another storm this evening- we are seriously about to float away from all of this rain. As usual, before we even knew it was coming, Spkie started shaking. Lauren put the tee on and, poof, no more shaking! When the storm was at it's worst he stared panting but not really shaking. I brought out the Yorkie Yummies and he forgot all about the storm. I have tried tempting him with everything you can think of in the past. I had a theory that if I could get him to relate storms to yummy treats he wouldn't be as afraid. It never came close to working. He was so worked up by storms that I couldn't even get him to give the treats a little sniff. Now, with the magic tee shirt, all I did was go into the kitchen and shake the treats and say; who wants a cookie? All 3 came running, including Spike! He couldn't eat the treats fast enough. I am not kidding when I say this is practically miraculous for me!

| Haha, we're really getting it lately aren't we? I know we were all wishing for rain but it's getting ridiculous!

| Well.. I just tested it out and OMG what a difference. My lab (spooky, ironically) freaks so badly. I was trying to go to sleep and I heard my door open and then the familiar jump onto the bed and I can feel the whole bed shaking from her. So, I remembered the magic tee! I did pull double duty though, I wiped her down with a dryer sheet and then put a tee chirt on her and she is doing really well!!!! She stopped shaking and she is now SLEEPING!!!!!! It is absolutely amazing

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | No fair! We never got lightning in town. I was actually hoping for it so I could test it out. We had it not far away, though. A couple hikers were out "storm watching" and got hit by lightning! Both survived but had to be carried down the mountain.

| Many times, when a human newborn is fussy, you wrap them tightly (swaddling) and they calm down. It appears the T-shirt does the same thing: it's close and comforting. My dogs aren't afraid of the storms, but the male likes to run outside and bark at the thunder . It's like it disturbs his "chi" or something . However, neither of them is fond of riding in the car. Maybe the shirt will work for that??? I'll have to give it a try. |

| I just wanted to post again to this, we have lots of storms! This is seriously the most amazing and easy thing. I have found that I don't need to use a tee shirt, which is great since my lab really doesn't need to have any more warmth then her double coat already provides. I just use the dryer sheet along and like magic.. it works!

| I am glad this post came back to the top page for me! I have been wanting to add my "me too" story. Candy, our Jack Russell has been our resident Storm Maniac. She absolutely is terrified during a storm. Thunder and lightening are the worst but she will shake even with rain alone. I had ordered a couple of T-shirts for her and tried them out during the last few rain storms. She calms right down! She did still have a bit of a reaction to the thunder claps but then we all did, so I am not thinking that can be helped. Loud is loud. But to see her be able to sit through the storm, without shaking so bad you'd think she is ready to have a seizure, is wonderful! Another thing she does when upset like that is shed worse than normal. You would not think it but a Jack Russell sheds a LOT! When I vacuum, 99% of what I pick up is white hair from her. So, calming her during the storms, may also keep a little more hair on her body and less on my floors. Thank you for starting this thread! Candy thanks you too!

| I found out about t-shirts calming nervous doggies a couple of years ago from a friend. Daisy isn't afraid of storms or fireworks or loud noises but she sometimes gets a little nervous when she hears a 'new' noise that she doesn't recognize. When I put a tight fitting shirt on her she calms down right away. She likes to snuggle and be close to me so I guess the shirt feels like a 'hug' to her.

I thought I was the only person in the world that had a fearful JR. People tend to think JR's are fearless and are shocked when i tell them that buddee goes into full panic mode when there is a fly in the house LOL!!! anyways im getting off the subject..... i will def try this during the next thunderstorm (we are in Los angeles, CA so we dont have many if any...) Right now my biggest worry is 4th of July..... Buddee is absolutely TERRIFIED of fireworks!!! Do u think the anxiety wrap or a shirt would help with fireworks? Thanks! | |

| Do any of you think this would help with dog who is skidish in a car. She's not over the top upset, but she sure shakes sometimes.
