| Somtimes a puppy will do that because it has to potty. Could that be the case? If so no worries. Don't want to alarm but there are some more serious reasons a puppy will walk in circles (not sure if the backwards part would tie in) but if you think your puppy is doing it a lot and not associated with having to go pee or poop, then I would probably check with your vet. Things like distemper, for instance, can show the symptom of walking in circles. There are others but that is a serious one showing need to get it checked out if it continues.

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Thanks for your reply. Bella is 4 yrs old. Would this apply only if she was a puppy? I will be taking her to the vet tomorrow. I am sure it is not associated with having to go to the bathroom. |

| Walking backwards and circling are classic neurological signs. Has she ever had a bile acids test to check for a liver shunt? Yorkies with liver shunts have neurological symptoms. I'm glad you are taking her to your vet. Please keep us updated. |
