I guess you sure would have noticed before if this was her normal sign that she needed to go bathroom. I did not realize she was 4 years old. I have puppies on the mind lately.
Distemper would be more associated with puppies but can affect older dogs too. But I was just using that as an example -- pls don't think I am saying your dog has that. Just that because walking in circles can be a sign of several serious conditions, it is best to get a vet to take a look. Here is an article that mentions several:
Why Do Dogs Walk in Circles? It just talks about walking in circles and not backwards in circles. But still, better to check new behaviors in adult dogs like this out with your vet. Could be she just finds it entertaining, but could also be ear mites or an infection so you would want to check into all the possibilities.
