| My Roxy goes for surgey on Thurs. So after really thinking about it. I have decided to go through with the spaying. My baby has her appt for Thursday the 16th I'm going to feel so bad for her. Is there anything that I should look out for. How are the puppies after surgery This is my first pup so I want to be prepared. Hospital told me I might want to get her some pain killers would that be neccessary... How will she eat with the lamp shade on her head and or sleep.. I'm gonna have to put her gate back up so she can have room. I'm sure she won't fit into the crate with the lamp shade on her head I'm not making fun of the thingy they put on there but they look like lamp shades so thats why I call them that...

| Some dogs do require an e-collar but some will ignore their incision if you use a baby onesie which is much more comfortable. The vet shold give you pain meds.

| You think a onesie would be better for her to be left alone in the house.. She's a beast she'll eat at it and make a hole... Should I get her a onesie for bed time instead and collar for during the day?

| If you think there is any chance that she can get to the incision with a onesie, she will need to wear the collar. Onesies work for some and not for others.

| I used a baby onesie for Mandie and it worked great! The cone they gave me was too big for her so i just used the onesie when she was at home by herself and at nighttime. I thought for sure she would still get to the stiches but she never did. Although one morning i woke up and she had the onesie off and was chewing on it.. how she got it off... I have no idea!! She was really sore the first two days. Definately make sure u get pain meds!!!! What the vet told me was that it is very hard for them to completely lick and pull out the stiches. Even if they do the little girls are sewn 3 times , once to close the muscle, once for the fatty tissue and then the outter skin. Try not to worry too much!

| Only reason I worry so much is because she is left alone for 4 or 5 hours at a time... I'm def gonna get the meds then.. The onesie... Hmm I'd have to see what size fits my little girl.. She is only 4.3lbs LOL!!! My poor baby it just won't be the same without her jumping on my lap while I'm typing.... I don't know what to expect on her recovery.. What should I do to help her better. I know she won't be able to jump on couches anymore or at least til she's healed.. What about on the ride home how can I make that more comfortable for her... Its so hard when the dog can't tell us what they are feeling my poor baby...
