We started having our pups ears done right after her last shots. It was literally 5 mins. in the groomers lap and we were done. I was scared too that my baby would get hurt, but I stayed right there and watched and felt like it was the best thing for me to do, since I would be more nervous doing it myself. Having never done it before and having a wiggly little puppy and a sharp object just made me uncomfortable.

Maybe you can check with your vet and see when he suggests you start doing this?

Teddi's ears were flopped down when he was younger. I just kept the hair on the top third of his ears somewhat short and I think it was when he was about 5 months old that they started to stand up straight on their own. No taping needed!

Genghis had maybe has floppy ears, but when I trim the hair from the ears they popped up. I think it was just the hair weighing it down. Cute either way
