| He simply won't eat! This is bothering me. My 1 year old yorkie won't eat. He never ate much dry food so after he turned 9 mos I started feeding him beneful wet food. NOW he refuses to eat that! GRR. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? What do I do to remedy the situation? Should I go buy chicken breast and rice and boil those for him to eat? I have noticed the correlation between him not eating and us (mainly mom and dad) feeding him table scraps and letting him lick their plates. Should I tell them to quit so that he eats? I can't see how the Beneful is not tasty to him, it even smells yummy to me.. IDK what to do. Help! Brittany

As far as tablescraps..NO, do you know that tablescraps can cause a dog to get pancratitis, which can be deadly, plus make the dog a picky eater(which is what you're seeing now). If you want to give him any human food, it should not be done from the table, that causes them to beg and be picky and not want their "dog food". If you give him any of your food, give a little bit of fruits or veggies. Never any raisins, chocolate, and there are other foods not good for him(onion, garlic). Just put in food toxic to dogs (google it). I would start looking tomorrow for at least a 4 star food to have your pup on, and tell Mom and Dad NO MORE tablescraps. ♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | I agree with the above NO table scraps. If we were being fed yummies from the table would you want to eat your regular food? I know it seems scarey when they dont eat but a dog WILL eat when hungry , its a natural survival instinct, unless he is sick of course but you havnt mentioned any symptons so he is being fussy. Believe me we have all been through this. The chicken and rice is like a safety net, only give when you really need to for a poorly belly for example. Good luck with it , hope some of this helps you.

| Please don't feed your furbaby unhealthy foods. You can look online @ HighQualityDogFood and you can read the difference in food quality. We feed Wellness brands and sometimes Blue Buffalo Foods and snacks. If we can't find Wellness when traveling. Please DON'T USE any food with BY-PRODUCTS IN THE LIST OF INGREDIENTS. They are basically entrails, hooves, nails etc. IN CHicken it's feathers, beeks, toenails. Nothing of any nutritional value. The first few ingredients in the label should be things like Beef, Chicken,Veal, etc followed by veges and even fruits and whole wheat grain or rice. Once you have read a few labels you will begin to see the difference in Nutrition value. I know you want your furbaby to be with you for a very long time and the way for that to happen they need to be fed good foods and snacks. I have had Yorkies since 1976 and they all enjoyed good food. I don't advise cooking for him right now, just put a STOP to table feeding. He dosent' need the extra SALT and other additives that are in our foods. Just go Natural or Holistic. You will be so glad you did...... To Add, NEVER give the cheapo snacks like beggin strips, snausages and things like that. The good stuff isn't that much more expensive all things considered. Good Luck...
