| Scaly Skin & Clavamox My smallest Yorkie, Harley, developed very scaly skin in January (it looks like a really BAD case of dandruff). I took him to the vet and she prescribed Clavamox and Sebolux shampoo. After 2 weeks of antibiotics his skin was completely healed. I continued to use the medicated shampoo for his weekly baths. Now the dandruff is back in a big way. He's never suffered from allergies before but I'm wondering if the Cesar's and/or Purina One food that he has twice a day could be part of the problem. Anyone have any ideas? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Welcome to YT! Skin issues can be very frustrating. Why was an antibiotic prescribed? And did the vet Dx seborrhea or something? I'm confused there... If there is just dryness and flakiness - then I'd try switching to a better food (what you have him on now may be a big part of the problem) and also getting him on fatty acids right away. I like Ark Naturals Royal Coat bc it has the fish oil fatty acids (EPA/DHA) and also has GLA and LA, which are great for skin issues in particular - on of that, it already has the Vit E that must be given w/ all fish oils.
