| Thanks for posting Anne. We are still struggling with our lab, and have even talked recently about putting him down. I know that sounds drastic but he is itchy, unhappy and too large to treat with the expensive options such as Atopica (it would cost $200 a month for that, on top of the $150/mo for his food). I am going to e-mail Susan for the dosing instructions, and I think we'll give it a try. Thank you soooo much!

| I e-mailed Susan about the Sterol for the lab. Her customer service gal e-mailed me back saying that the Sterol itself is not recommended as a "stand alone" allergy product, and that I would need to use it coupled with Proaller and Notatum. They also wont give out dosage information without a consultation I understand they want everyone to get the best results possible, but our pockets are tapped for this big pound puppy. Looks like he's going to be getting Benadryl until it's time to say good-bye. Oh, and I recalculated, it would cost $200 for the generic Atopica (haven't heard good things about) or $400 freakin' bucks A MONTH for the brand name. Sheesh.

- I'm so sorry he is suffering so much, I know how much you care for your babies. Fyi, I had tried the Proaller and Notatum w/ Marcel and didn't have results. I can't say if those 2 things coupled w/ the Sterol117 would be the key or not - but that'd be a very expensive trial, no doubt about it.What about the Moducare (iherb) or Immune Response (Only Natural Pet)? The real active ingred. (in terms of histamine) in Sterol117 is present in the Moducare ($19 for 90caps). Honestly, I don't think anyone can say that the *only* thing that works for a dog (or human, for that matter) is these "three" products, ya know? In reading reviews for the sterol products - there are both people and pets getting a lot of relief - so maybe your baby would do great on just the one product. I have the highest respect for Susan, but I have to disagree w/ her a bit on this one, to be honest. There is no proof that a sterol product cannot work alone, in fact, there IS proof out there that it does. Hugs, girl.

I have to thank you as, once again, you prompted me to think outside the box. I am actually going to purchase some for myself, as I do suffer from pretty bad allergies year-round. My husband keeps bugging me to go to an allergy center but I will not go through allergy shots and cannot take meds as they make me fall asleep or pass out. He just doesn't understand how those things effect me. SO... I will keep you updated on any changes I see in myself and Nitro Thank you!!

. The more I thought about this, the more it made me feel weird - I mean, Sterol117 was studied as a stand-alone product, with outstanding results as I understand it. And Moducare had studies too....so I just don't get the statement made by Susan's ass't. ![]() Anyway, the Only Natural Pet version (which is the EXACT same thing as Moducare, in fact quite sure made by Moducare Co., just diff. label) says 1-2 capsules daily for each 25 pounds body weight. So hopefully that helps. ![]() I lovez ya too and I do hope this works for both you and Nitro!

Jamie has the runny/gunky eyes and an itchy face (not his body, just his face). Today is just horrible. Pollen is at 10.6 here! I tried to convince Jamie to go inside on a potty pad so that we could avoid taking him outside when I know pollen is really bad, but he just hates it. He'll just hold it inside. So I had to take him out. When I brought him back in he was rubbing his little face all over the blanket in his area and pawing at his face. I gave him some benadryl which usually helps some after he gets over having to take it. Jamie weighs just a tad more than Marcel so I can't wait to see how this works for him. I really want to find something that makes my baby feel better.

| Excellent post........ My little girl is just beginning the sneeze all the time thing, and was going to get her checked for allergies at the vet this week. I will have to get into your link and look around and see if there is anything for Andromeda. Thanks again. |

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I got mine, but have only been using it for 4 days - so no results yet. From what I read, it ususally takes around 3 wks or so for the stuff to halt the histamine -- I am soooo hopeful, I want this to work so bad!

| My moducare arrived today. I put some in a little applesauce for Roxy- she hasn't touched it yet. She is more interested in playing ball right now. She should settle down in a few and lap it up. Then I'll have to wait an hour before she can get her evening meal. I have done a little more reading and am very hopeful! |

| Well for some reason Roxy would not go near the applesauce with the Moducare in it. Maybe she saw me mixing it in. I finally slipped some into some peanut butter and she licked it right off the spoon. Now I have to wait until about 10:30 to let her eat her evening meal. By the way, I have been reading more and more on these plant sterols- seems the FDA has allowed them to be advertised for lowering cholesterol in humans. Also there are studies to prove they are good for autoimmune diseases. Who Knew!?! I'll be taking them myself too. |
