| Chance has liver shunt surgery this friday at U of Tenn. I'm worried about her not making it through the surgery and recovery, I'm sure everyone that has went through this knows how I feel. How many of you guys have had the surgery on your babies and they are living long, healthy and happy lives? |
My Lola had liver shunt surgery at UT on March 6 - about 2 1/2 weeks ago. We flew from Texas on Wednesday night, had scintigraphy done on Thursday morning and surgery Friday morning. They let me bring her back to the hotel Saturday evening and we were back in Texas Sunday night. She has done great...not one problem. She has gained some of her weight back and her energy levels have picked up. You will be so happy that you went to TN to have this done. They are so caring. I have had to call them a few times for silly questions and each time I have spoken to someone immediately and had all of my questions answered. Be sure to take onesies with you so your baby does not have to wear that heavy collar - it's much more comfortable. Good luck - you will be in great hands. Let us know if you have any other questions...you can also PM me if you'd like.
