| I have in the past and mine loved it. It is a little higher than some of the other good foods. My vet said that the breed specifiic isn't any different or better than their regular varieties. If you read on the ingredients, most of their foods are very similar. For example, I was feeding the Beauty Care which was the same ingredients as the Yorkshire Terrier food but about 3 dollars a bag cheaper. Both have corn gluten meal and that is a risk factor for allergies if that is a factor for you. It wasn't with my guys, and their coats were fantastic. My girls are kinda picky. They wouldn''t eat some of the other foods on here that have been suggested, Innova, Calif Natural, Natures Variety, Solid Gold, or Wellness. I have had good luck with Royal Canine and with Natural Balance, which is another food you might consider. Good Ingredients and the price is good.

| I have in the past and my dogs loved it. However one of my dogs got the itchies so I switched. If your dog doesnt have allergies to corn its a fine food

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey's been using it for a couple of years, and has been thriving on it. He doesn't have the problem that a lot of dogs have had with other foods, and never has problems with gas, vomiting diarrhea, soft poop, eating poop, and his breath is great, and his hair is shinny too. However, it does contain corn, and some dogs are allergic to corn, so if your dog experiences itching, more than the occasional scratch the corn might be the culprit. RC is not rated as high as most of the recommended foods, on the different food sites, and we did try Blue Wilderness because of it's high rating, and no corn. Joey liked it, but a couple of days after I started it he had extreme eye watering with brown gunk coming from his eyes, I continued the new food, and the eye problem got worse. His eyes were loaded with stuff each morning, and this has never happened before. So I stopped the new food. His eyes got better within a few days, but continued to water, and it's just been the last two days they are finally dry again. Part of me wants to test the food again, and see if the eye problem returns, but I'm afraid, I'll start up an allergy or something that I can never get rid of. So we are back on the RC, and loving it.

Here are the ingredients of Blue Wilderness: See if you notice anything. I know its not the carrots, flaxseed, or blueberries. Quote:

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I wonder if he is sensitive to Barley, Alfalfa, or Kelp - or even Turmeric isn't too common. Oats can even be weird for some, so maaaaybe the oatmeal. But nothing else really stands out tall. Ya know, you're actually kinda lucky that Joey does so well on corn, bc it gives you many more options if/when you do see a weird symptom like you did w/ Blue. But yeah, on one hand I too would want to try it again to see if it was the food - but on the other hand, if an allergy really blows open, yikes. You know the domino effect w/ allergies! Not knowing is hard though, too.

| I've never tried it myself. My Mom was buying it a few years ago for her Shih tzu and that dogs hair was beautiful while on it. The groomer she was buying it from moved from IL to SC though, and there was no where else in that area to buy it from. I have so many different kind of dogs, and different ages, that I have all of mine on Taste of the Wild now, which is for all life stages |

Ya know, I wonder too if it was those berries - bc they can be so "staining"...hmm...just guessing really.

It wasn't really staining though, and he's had blueberries before with no problems, it affected both eyes so that made me think there was no eye problem per se, just massive drainage and I guess what some people call "eye boogers". I know this is common with lots of yorkies, but now I wonder if it could be food related with those dogs as well? I keep thinking if it happens again, while he's not on that food, than I would know it wasn't related to the food, but something else.
