Although I must say that $650 is an extremely high adoption donation, so who knows! Maybe this rescue is better off than most.

Actually his adoption fee was $675, plus I gave them an extra $30 donation on top of it. And yes, I do realize that it is a non-profit organization which is why I said that I'd be happy if they paid at least half of it. It's no one person's fault - it's just something that slipped by but I don't think I should incur all of the costs. Especially since I've given another $45 donation last weekend to them at a function and I'm in the process of trying to get in to be a member - If I were a member I could help with more fundraiser stuff and possibly help raise additional money with them.

Oh, that is a good point. It would be great if you have some paperwork reflecting what they cflaimed.

I received a reply email from the lady that runs the rescue group and she wants me to call her tonight to discuss the sitation. She said that we "will address the issue, but that she doesn't do neuters in Canada due to the cost", which means she'll want to take him to the states for it. Trooper had his liver shunt surgery at Oakland over there, so I don't know if she'd want to take him there or not. I have no problem with that as long as I can be there while with him... I don't want her to take him by herself - he's my baby and I've bonded with him too much for me to not be there... But on the other hand if they want to keep him overnight I might not be able to stay. I don't know yet. I'll call her tonight and get more details and keep everyone posted.
