| Not Eating & Bad Breath My 6 months old has recently tested positive for Coccidia. He is now on Albon to get rid of the parasite. And about a week ago, he started losing appetite and his breath which has alway been beyond pleasant - has started to stink sooooooooo bad. Just a day ago, I found his baby tooth on the blanket so he's loosing his teeth. But can anyone tell me if one has to do with another? Thanks!!! |

| The bad breath is from the teething and the not eating is from the coccidia. Youve got to keep him eating even if it means watering down the food and force feeding it through a syringe. If he doesnt eat his blood sugar could also get low and youll have bigger problems

| Well at the end of the day, he's eating about half to 2/3 of what he usually eats. But usually he finishes his food in one sitting and now he has no interest, doesnt even come close. He usually loves the wet food that I mix in with the dry food but he doesn't even look at it now unless he gets overly hungry. So the bad breath is due to teething? Will it eventually go away? When does the teething period end? |

| It depends sometimes the retained baby teeth have to be pulled because they dont fall out. Alot of people do this at the spay/neuter

Not to scare you, but you may want to call your vet and ask if they can do xrays to make sure there is no foreign body in your babies digestive track, sometimes that can be caused by bad breathe as well, does your baby get into things they shoudnt?

| He doesn't really get into things he shouldn't. I have found him chewing on a basket where I keep my magazines ones (which he did poop out some of the materials later that night) but that's about it. So there is no way to tell if the bad breath is dental related or not? |
