				   | I started a thread earlier about Trixie not wanting to eat her food and having diarreah and blood in her stool. I called the vet earlier today to check with them about some advise and she said it should resolve herself because Trixie is teething. And I did manage to handfeed her today. But tonight I am getting worried. I tried to take her for a walk; nothing big, just around the block. She tried to poop every block or so and all that is coming out is a drop of diarreah with blood. Then all of a sudden she started crying and pulling her leg. She is walking in circles and keeps licking her leg. She did not step on anything that I could track back or get hurt. So now I am getting really worried with everything together: not eating, diarreah, pulling her leg... Any advice??? |

				   | Take her to the Vet in the morning. He's probably right, but she needs to be seen. Joy, Nikki and Chloe Rose |

				   | She might have actually pottied onto her leg and it is making her uncomfy. However, I truly would take her to see the vet for an exam. You don't want her to become dehydrated due to her loose stools, please make sure she is drinking. Water, Pedialite, Gatorade, etc. Something with electrolites (sp) is really good for them when they are losing fluids. Schatzie sends hugs.

				   | I don't remember Lily having bloody stools when teething. In the morning I would get a stool sample checked if nothing else for peace of mind. Try to keep her drinking even if she wont eat.

				   | I've never had a little one that had it, either. Muffin didn't. Kacee is teething and she hasn't had it.

				   | Okay little update, we are feeling better... I handfed Trixie some more and made her eat her food yesterday night... We went to bed early. When we woke up, Trixie was full of energy again. Her stool was solid and without blood. And she is walking more normal again (it looks like she is still not putting all of her weight on one of her legs, but it's definately getting better). Thanks so much for all of your suggestions. I guess I am just a worried new mom, this is the first time she has been sick... If it all returns or her leg gets worse I will take her in to the vet... but I'm going to monitor her for now... |
