| Chicken Jerky Treats Wookies absolute favorite treat is the dehydrated chicken strip that he gets a part of each night before we lay down to go to bed. He goes crazy over them, so much I have to break it into little pieces and hand feed him or he eats to fast and does that honking thing! Well, I read in here that those were not neccessarily the best thing for him since the chicken is coming from sources in China. (I get the big 2# bag of them from Sams for $17) So of course I wanted to switch to something I feel more comfortable with. Something with meat from US. My pet food supplier had Natures Variety Turkey Jerky that was made in US and was just like them (well, except that it is turkey, duh!). But OMG, they were $5 for 1.5 ounces!! That is kinda high!! I break them up into smaller pieces but that is still expensive!! Does anyone know of anything similar that is still made in US but not quite so expensive???

| Everything I've seen made in the US is expensive. Baxter loves the ones they have at Petsmart but that was before I found out they were bad. Really ticks me off that they still have them on the shelf. i think they wrer the Vitalife ones. I definitely don't use those any more. |

Yeah, I am begining to see that. Searching on the internet I am finding that all the USDA stuff is higher. Also finding many that don't even list their meat source, so will definitely stay away from those!!!

| This was a thread posted a little while ago. You can make your own which I think is great because you know where it came from and you know there is no added stuff and it's a lot cheaper. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...erky-dogs.html

| I hope it's OK if I jump in here since I am new. But saw this thread and wanted to point you guys to a GREAT chicken treat that is 100% chicken, no fillers or additives and made in the USA. It's called Kona Chips. Here's the website: Home | Kona's Chips I am not affiliated with Kona Chips, but was looking for a great snack that was natural, no sugars, corn, wheat, etc. and that the pups would like! Well our puppy is CRAZY for his Kona Chips. I urge you guys to read the website and check it out! |
