UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!![]() I found a Emergency Animal Hospital that is open 24/7 only a little over an hour from me. I just returned home with news that is a little better. It appears the conjunctivitis has caused her tear duct to become inactive, leading to dry eye. This irritation has in turn caused her her to scratch her eye and cause an infection . I was given the Gentak gel drops and eye drops to use to help with lubrication. I am just thankful the news was not worse. She is sleeping now after an eventful day in the big city!![]() Thank you all for your reply's and especially you Nancy for your help! | |

Today I had the pleasure of looking into both of my little girls eyes! I was so excited. I asked my husband to put drops in her eye while I was at work and he could not even tell which eye needed attention.I am so thankful I learned about the Gentak gel drops! Thanks to this wonderful site and some wonderful advice I no longer have a little pirate for a baby! | |

I was curious if you would get as speedy results as I did. Great, I hope she continues to improve.

				   | Do you know if the dry eye (KCS) is permanent? Will you have to use eye gel permanently now? My Lady has dry eye and I also have to use a tear stimulant twice a day. I am so glad you took her to the vet! She could have lost her eye. |

				   | I do not know if the eye drops are permanent yet. The ER vet did say she may have to have eye drops from now on, however the Gentak is temporary for the infection. I am just keeping a close eye on her eye to make sure I see any signs of dryness. I was just so excited to see her little eyes, it has been almost a month! I have had her to the vet at least once a week since Jan 2. The ointments they were giving was just not working. The ER vet gave me the two drops I am using now and they are great! |
