| Conjunctivitis and Apple Cider Vinegar Misa had conjuntivitis, for which I was planning on taking her to the vet to get antibiotics. I did a search on the net and found a home remedy in which apple cider vinegar is rubbed into the scruff of the neck. Lo and behold, it actually worked! The conjunctivitis cleared up within hours, literally. No more discharge or anything. I rubbed some more into her neck the next day to be on the safe side, but what I want to know is if anyone had ever heard of this before and if so, why does this work? | Yes, she actually had the greenish discharge. I am so amazed by this. do a search on conjunctivitis and dogs and it's some website that gives homeopathic remedies for both dogs and cats. It's amazing what they are saying apple cider vinegar can be used for. I think it did say something about normalizing ph and they say it also works for urine issues and ear infections too. |

| Apple cider vinegar is supposed to help with the tear stains like Angel Eyes. I have a link Ten Good Reasons to Give Your Pet Apple Cider Vinegar that talks about uses of apple cider vinegar for our pets. I checked out the Earth Clinic site. Lot of interesting material on it.

This is a wonderful list as well. I had never heard of ACV being used before, but I'm a witness to the fact that it cleared Misa's conjunctivitis quickly! | |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Thank you for this information and I'm thrilled the ACV cleared up the conjunctivitis for Misa. I'm going to tell my friend, she has a shih tzu with conjunctivitis and the meds don't seem to be helping too much. My m-i-l gave us a really old book filled with all kinds of ACV remedies. My dh and I even tried taking it for awhile, but geez, it was hard to swallow I wonder if it's the acid in the vinegar that helps with the conjunctivitis?

| Acv I have an uncle that had cataracts in both eyes used 1/2 solution of Braggs ACV and 1/2 distilled water and got rid of both cataracts. Used it on dogs eyes diluted way down and got rid of lots of yeast problems with gunky eyes! Also used a diluted solution in pets ears to get rid of mites and ear infections! Pretty amazing stuff!

YT 2000 Club Member | The only thing acv did for my dogs was make thier pee almost red and they killed most of my grass last summer. I tried it for a few months and it did nothing.. didnt repel fleas, made them itch and it certianly didnt get rid of thier tear staining, and yes I used the organic stuff.. Many people have had great success with it, I wished that it worked better for us.

| I think my Yorkie might have conjunctivitis. His was squinting last night and his eye looked swollen. This morning he was very crusty around the eye. I removed this with warm cotton pads much to his annoyance. Although this seems to have made things better I have decided to get it checked out at the vets. Not sure if the walk we went on the other day resulted in something getting in his eye. Apart from the cider vinegar is anyone aware of any other alternative remedies |
