Donating YT 4000 Club Member | When I got little Prada the breeder had her on Royal Canine, but I had my Harry boy eating Innova, and Prada went straight for Harry's bowl the first day and ate most of it... I wanted to do slow transition but Prada had other Plans, I started mixing the kibble and she would pick the innova puppy kibble and leave the RC in the bowl, she is 7 pounds now at 7 months, my son did a lot of research and innova and innova Evo were on the top of the short list, with Natures variety and some others, my pups are doing great on Innova and as long as they eat I am happy.. Best of luck in your search.. Carmen in nj |

| Consumer complaints about Nutro Pet Foods I would stop the Nutro immediately. Would you rather feed kibble or canned?

| Wookie has never liked canned food, any brand. He now eats 1/2 cup of Innova EVO kibble in the mornings and 1/2 a Natures Variety raw medallion in the evening. Its the NV rotation diet (except I am staying with Innova kibble because he has done so well with it) and I would rotate with canned too if he would eat that. I used to do homecooked instead of raw, but I wasn't balancing the nutrients in it (don't really know how to do that) and it may or may not have contributed to him having an alkaline pH in his urine. Natures Variety has a website where you can read about the rotation diet, I really like the ideas behind it. And I just found out last night that my hollistic vet that I see once a year is on its Pet Nutrition Council, so that made me feel good.

I mean Nutro specifically. Did you throw it away or are you going to continue using it until it's gone?

| Okay. Please go to post number 3 on this thread and click on the link. Nutro has been blamed on illness and death in a very large number of dogs but the company won't recall. I was just confused if you were still giving it. Anyway, I really would throw it away.

| Two of the better brands sold there are Wellness and Natural Balance. Natural Balance seems a bit low in fat for pups. I don't think they carry Innova or that might be a good choice. Because of the new pics and concerns of fish bones not being ground properly and people seeing them in their dogs' kibble, I would not be very comfortable with a fish based kibble right now. One of those places might carry Blue Buffalo also but I don't know much about the food. This is for kibble. Not sure what canned I'd use.

| They both come in both. Innova canned it too high in fat and I wouldn't use it. Wellness canned is made at Menu, so I wouldn't use that either. I'd only use their kibbles. That doesn't mean their canned foods are bad though. I just wouldn't use them.
