| I use Revolution. Mainly because it's an all in one preventative for heartworm, fleas and their eggs from hatching, ear mites, mange & ticks. Here's their site: Revolution (selamectin) stops fleas and prevents heartworms.

| We don't use anything unless it is absolutely necessary, then we bathe in Dawn. IF that doesn't work, Frontline Plus. I would not use Hartz, Sergaents, Zodiac, Revolution and I would try to avoid anything with permethrin if possible like Advantix.

| Here in North Carolina we have to use a flea preventative. I always used Frontline, but the fleas in this area developed a resistance to it so I had to switch to Advantage a couple of years ago. I'd stay away from Revolution or any combination treatment as Crystal said. Toy breeds are much more likely to have reactions than other breeds. It's best to keep your flea treatment separate from the heartworm preventative. I do one on the first of each month and the other on the 15th to be safe. |

YT 2000 Club Member | I use frontline plus for all of my pets, we have to use something here too. I dont usually treat them in the winter unless I see fleas on them, which is very rare.

I agree, Frontline plus is great. i would not trust any hartz products at all. PRetty much nothing over the counter or what you find at wal-mart or grocery stores. I battled with fleas with fiona for a month this summer and it was no fun, so she is getting treated year round!
