Here in North Carolina we have to use a flea preventative. I always used Frontline, but the fleas in this area developed a resistance to it so I had to switch to Advantage a couple of years ago.

I'd stay away from Revolution or any combination treatment as Crystal said. Toy breeds are much more likely to have reactions than other breeds. It's best to keep your flea treatment separate from the heartworm preventative. I do one on the first of each month and the other on the 15th to be safe.
