Wet it with the warm washcloth to soften it if it is hard, then use a toothbrush to get it out. Works great.

welcome Hi a warm welcome to yorkietalk. My baby prudence has gunky eyes I make it a morning thing where I get soft cotton pads dunk them in water and gently clean it out of her eyes and then brush the fur gently where it is wet and that gets out any lumps and she has got use to me doing it .The vet said its best to not start treating it with stuff or you can start getting all sorts of problems but i did get her to have a look at It just to make sure it wasn't an eye infection. dianne and prudence

I use wipes too! I bought mine from Robins Pet Care and it they are made by earthbath and are all natural. He really like to get wiped down with them. His coat looks very shiny after.

Eye wipes and a flea comb do a good job for my little guys. I also wash the eye area very well with warm water during bath time.
