| Post Spaying Behavior Hello, I just wanted to know if anyone experienced any behavioral issues with their fur babies after they were fixed? Nala was spayed 2 weeks ago and it seems that she has regressed as far as training goes. She's been a little more mischievous than normal and she's really working my nerves lately. She was fully potty trained before the spay, and now she's tinkling in places she never tinkled before...and while I'm watching her...No warning, she just squats and goes...is this normal after being spayed? |

| Dogs can develop urinary incontinence after being spayed but it isn't really likely. They can also get urinary tract infections after surgery. I would see the vet if you are concerned. Ellie got a bit more snippy than usual for a few months after her spay but has since returned to normal.

Does she look red down in that area? It's more than likely a UTI! Keep us posted!

| Mollys incision was very red so she had a course of antibiotics...turned out it wasn't an infection, but she'd had an allergic reaction to the stitches. She was fine in herself though and didnt have any problems with weeing. |

| Her incision seems fine...not red...just a bump that just looks like it's a vein...but it doesn't seem irritated and she doesn't pick at it...but I'll have her checked out just to be on the safe side...I'll keep everyone posted |

| My Daisy Mae was spayed 6 days ago. The only change I have seen in her is that she is antsy to get that darn e-collar off!! I am sure she will get back to normal very soo. ~Kathy

| Piper was spayed in November and I didn't notice any change in behavior. She also didn't have any stitches on the outside, which was nice because there were no stitches that had to be removed.

| Possibilities... I received my yorkie and she was given to me because of this reason. They told me when I was first taking her that she was almost two, and had been spayed. When I looked at her vet records after I got her, it showed that she was not even a year old yet when I got her. The reason they gave her away was because she was almost 100% potty-trained, and after she was spayed, she began pottying all over the house again, would go in front of the door, then bark. Now that I have her, she does try to let me know, however sometimes, she just cant make it. She has done it right between my legs before, and I dont think she does it on purpose, or to be spiteful. I really believe that she cant help herself. I have been told that there is a possibility of her being "nicked" when she was spayed, and that messes with her ability to control herself. I did not have her before she was spayed, or directly after, just a few months later and I am trying my hardest to figure out what is going on? Sounds like we have the same issue? |

| Yea sounds the same. I took her to the vet last week for a different reason, but I had him take a look to make sure the incision hadn't caught an infection and it didn't. But since I was so nervous about her other problem (she had the runs) I didn't inform him of her random potty problems...I want to say 9 times out of 10 she goes in the right spot...but then out of the blue, she'll tinkle somewhere that she's not supposed to...I'm going to have to call and ask the vet about that nipped part...hmmm |

| Sadie was 6 months old when she was spayed and totally regressed in the potty area. Prior to the spaying, she was almost completely housetrained. After the procedure, she started peeing wherever and whenever, and often right in front of me out of the blue. I have friends with different breed dogs who did the same. The good news is that it eventually stopped and then one day she just stopped having accidents. It took a few months, however. |
