| You should not expose other dogs to your little fella. It sounds like he might have kennel cough and it is very very contageous -- he may remain contageous for months after the cough goes away. Rabies would not be a huge concern except for laws that require dogs in public places to be vaccinated. Here in Georgia, if a dog bites someone and it is not current with it's rabies vaccinaitons he is quarrantined for two weeks and the owner is given a citation complete with a fine. |

| If the vet writes a medical waiver saying your pup can't get the vaccine while he is sick (doesn't work in all states), then he can go anywhere legally, but kennel cough is easily passed on to other dogs.

| What? I was talking about the rabies vaccine. Yes, if a dog has kennel cough, they should definately stay home.

| Actually older dogs very seldom get kennel cough, just young dogs. My pup got it 6 years ago at the vets office. At the time, I had 3 young pups and one older dog(the oldest one was 5 at the time), the other 2 young ones got it, but, the older one didn't. The vet said usually the older ones won't get it. |

| I wouldn't expose him to other dogs right now. He might be suspectable to different things.
