| Missy just had her 1st RAW meal - I have ?'s I bought her the Nature's Variety Organic Chicken Medallions just to get her started. She absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED it! I have never seen her eat with such gusto! Now...I need information. I have been researching the last few days myself, but I'm wondering what you RAW feeders feed to your Yorkies. I would like to eventually start doing the preparation of her food myself to offer more of a variety. I know it is important that they are fed a certain ratio of meat, organ meat, and bone. How do you raw feed your Yorkies? I'm wondering if she could even chew up raw bones if I gave them to her, or if I'd have to grind them down. Do you all think it's necessary to give supplements? Thanks a million! Here's a pic of my sweetheart last night trying out her first wanna-be-topknot

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | She is just darling! Congrats on her first raw meal! The pre-made raw is AAFCO certified and it is a complete diet, although some people do still supplement for specific needs. If a person wanted therapeutic dosages of Omegas, probiotics, or digestive enzymes - you'd want to supplement. Prey-model feeders give raw meaty bones as the meal (and organ meats as well). Have you read the websites for that or do you need links? I have fed NV, Primal, and am now feeding a local duck-offal grind by Suzy's.

| I have been researching like crazy, but if you have some links that you are willing to share, I'd sure appreciate it. I'm not sure which are good, and which aren't, and all this info is really mind boggling! I love researching though. Only the best for my Missy! Thank you so much for your help!

| I switched my baby Lola this week from Evo to NV chicken medallions. Tonight she had her first raw chicken leg. Bone and all. She LOVED it!! I was scared to death of her eating the bone but she did it no problem! Read, read, read and ask lots of questions. There are some wonderful raw feeders here that will assist you. |

She has never begged for food. Ever. She was whining the whole time I was cutting! I can't wait to psyche out a family member the first time I throw her a chicken leg LOL

| There are pros and cons to the raw diet and I would strongly suggest reading up on both before making up your mind. IS A RAW FOOD DIET THE ANSWER

| Quote: I have fed some of the balanced and original bravo to my dogs. I like that they have lots of protein source options and it is reasonably priced. I add some Honest Kitchen to the original sometimes, just for a more balanced meal.

I add a salmon oil supplement in their food for their coats (make sure its wild caught salmon and cold pressed) and colostrum. For treats I try to stick with grain free stuff. I usually give them organic carrots which they love, 100% dried chicken breasts, and for chewing I give them bully sticks (I know its kinda gross - its made from a bulls penis lol) but they are 100% digestable, so if they swallow a big piece, it will break down and the dog will be able to pass it. Unlike greenies or rawhide which are not 100% digestable can cause a blockage. I have been feeding NV Raw for 4 years now and I love it. I also leave out Evo so they can nibble on it. My dogs have smaller stools, better coats, and breath. No, I dont think its necessary to give all these supplements. Its completely optional. NV is a complete diet. Hope this helps!!!!
