Now...I need information. I have been researching the last few days myself, but I'm wondering what you RAW feeders feed to your Yorkies. I would like to eventually start doing the preparation of her food myself to offer more of a variety. I know it is important that they are fed a certain ratio of meat, organ meat, and bone. How do you raw feed your Yorkies? I'm wondering if she could even chew up raw bones if I gave them to her, or if I'd have to grind them down. Do you all think it's necessary to give supplements?
Thanks a million! Here's a pic of my sweetheart last night trying out her first wanna-be-topknot |
NV is a balanced diet so you do not need to add anything else. It also has grinded raw bones in there already (great for small dogs).
I add a salmon oil supplement in their food for their coats (make sure its wild caught salmon and cold pressed) and colostrum. For treats I try to stick with grain free stuff. I usually give them organic carrots which they love, 100% dried chicken breasts, and for chewing I give them bully sticks (I know its kinda gross - its made from a bulls penis lol) but they are 100% digestable, so if they swallow a big piece, it will break down and the dog will be able to pass it. Unlike greenies or rawhide which are not 100% digestable can cause a blockage.
I have been feeding NV Raw for 4 years now and I love it. I also leave out Evo so they can nibble on it. My dogs have smaller stools, better coats, and breath.
No, I dont think its necessary to give all these supplements. Its completely optional. NV is a complete diet.
Hope this helps!!!!
