| A good cookbook? I have been thinking about getting a good cookbook. Does anyone have any that they have found helpful? Currently I have only made home made treats but I have been thinking of adding some home cooked meals in also. Or at least getting some variety of treats instead of the same old ones. |

| i think the Three Dog Bakery has a cook book. Also if your home cooking is going to be more than 20% of your dog's diet then you need to supplement. |

| I looked online and I didn't see any cookbooks I did email them and ask about it though. We don't have this company in MN. Too bad too... it looks like they have some great stuff! |

| I wish I could help you. I have gathered recipes from the various Yorkie sites and added them to my own file. Some I liked and some my pups didn't care for. Trial and Error. I have never found one that has all put together. Good luck in your search. Let us know if you do find one!

| library I think I will try out some from the library and check them out before I buy. Amazon had a bunch but I don't want to buy them and find they have nothing good in them. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | If you read the diet forum, you will find that home cooking is not as simple as it at first sounds. You need to do more than have proteins and carbohydrates in the right balance. From what I read, if you plan on home cooking you should check with a dog nutritionist first and let her plan a diet for your dog. Be prepared to include extra vitamins as well as calcium, because it's impossible for them to get all the calcium they need from home cooking. For occasional treats home cooked is great, but it has been said that since so many do it wrong and don't take the time to really study it, home cooked can be a poor choice.

I am not thinking of going only homecooked meals, only on an occasional basis since I am working full time and going to school. Just thought it would be nice to *Spoil* our little one once a week or so Plus a cookbook with good treats in it would be nice. She is very food motivated and I don't like giving her all those store bought treats. | |

| I use to have a LOT of doggie cook books, but most were too complicated or questionable. The best ones I've found, and the easiest, healthiest are in Ann N. Martins book titled MORE SHOCKING FACTS!
