If you read the diet forum, you will find that home cooking is not as simple as it at first sounds. You need to do more than have proteins and carbohydrates in the right balance. From what I read, if you plan on home cooking you should check with a dog nutritionist first and let her plan a diet for your dog. Be prepared to include extra vitamins as well as calcium, because it's impossible for them to get all the calcium they need from home cooking. For occasional treats home cooked is great, but it has been said that since so many do it wrong and don't take the time to really study it, home cooked can be a poor choice.
