| lol, I don't blame you. When I had found out about Wellness and NB (obviously if this is going on, all of their foods have to be questioned because of the quality control), I thought well we still have Innova. Well, they are/were involved in a lawsuit in Florida with other foods. I'm not sure why but did read something hearsay about it and am not comfortable recommending even that until I read more. Then there is a looooooong thread on Itchmo about Evagners (yes, canned) and something was really being questioned. I haven't gotten to read the end of the thread yet but things weren't looking good. I think I'm just giving up on it. I feel like even Ellie's vitamins could be causing harm but don't want to pay $160 to change the recipe right now when it will just need to be changed again when I find something else wrong with it.

| You have a lot of choices out there. I love Life's Abundance. I had a pup with allergies and switching to LA eliminated those! You can do research at the link on my signature line. PM me if you want some free samples. LA is all-natural and has probiotics. I love it that I don't have to give supplements. Good luck in your searches!!!! Theresa/Missiemiss

| I think Primal raw, NV raw, and The Honest Kitchen dehydrated raw are the best foods at this point. I would be more inclined to recommend the Primal because all of their protein is sourced from the US, and the protein sources are ONLY fed US grains, meaning none of the $%&^ from China! The guy at the store I purchase my NV raw from told me that the rabbit is currently on backorder from China, which I don't know if that's true, but it certainly scared me!! I have recently done a TON of research on The Honest Kitchen, and really think it's top-notch stuff. The ingredients are actually the only dog food company that has legally been allowed to use the term "human grade" on their food. The stuff is also manufactured at a human food plant, which is a good thing. They test each batch of food for pathological bacteria, which the other raw companies do not do. The meat and egg in the HK food is also dehydrated at a temperature high enough to kill any bacteria, but low enough to preserve the nutrients of a raw food. If your squeemish about raw, or have a pup with an ultra senstitive GI, that seems to be the way to go. I am curious to watch the quality control of the food as the company grows...

| Here is a good thread from Itchmo: CA Natural - Herring & Sweet Potato Kibble: Fish Bones? Evidently there has been a bit of an issue with Cal. Nat. and pics had been taken of Innova (supposedly) and there was some odd looking things in that kibble... It is hard to know what pics to believe but until I am sure they are false, I almost have to avoid them. As for the NB pics, that is solid enough for me because of who posted them. It would be nice if these companies would address the issues here.

| The best food is the one that your dog does well on. Every dog is different, and it is kind of a process of trial and error until you find what works well for your individual pet. Even within the same breed and between siblings there will be differences. I rotate through a few different diets with Penny, primarily because I feel uncomfortable putting all my eggs in one basket, as it were. I've recently been feeding California Natural Herring and Sweet Potato, a couple of different varieties of Merrick, and Canidae, and my dog is thriving on them.

| I like Evanger. It is as close to home cooking as it gets. The labels read like "Beef, vegetables, brown rice..." Some contain only meat. My girls love it. I will alternate with Party Animal organic dog food. They love that also.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I highly suggest Life's Abundance premium Health Food. it comes in hard and canned. I use both. It was formulated by a Vet and is the best out there I have found. Also, NEVER been on a recall!!! its made and shipped right to your door and its not pricey!!! |

| My Yorkies range from 3 to 12 pounds and I feed them all Nature's Logic. I also wean my puppies on it as it's an all life stages food. What is unique about Nature's Logic is that it uses no synthetic vitamins or minerals in its food. The food ingredients alone are nutritionally complete so none are needed. I don't know of any other dry food that doesn't need to add vitamins and minerals to meet AAFCO requirements. Another thing I like is that NL comes in 4 different varieties: chicken, lamb, venison and duck/salmon. I rotate a different type with each bag. It helps keep them from getting tired of the same thing every day. I also feed my cat NL feline formula. It comes in chicken, rabbit and duck/salmon varieties. Though I haven't tried them, NL also makes canned as well as raw food. |

| Thanks Meg! I am glad you like THK. I have had the boys eating a tablespoon each meal from a sample I got and they seem to LOVE it. I think they like that it's warm.. silly boys!! It does smell good, in fact, it smells good enough to mask the yucky smell of the salmon oil I can't stand!
