| Licking...and licking....and licking her "lips"! Olivia is doing something odd the past few days...she sticks her tongue in and out over and over and over again...kind of like she is licking her lips. I'm talking for 5 or 10 minutes, over and over and over. My husband commented today that she has a long tongue - it's like she's stretching it out as far as she can. Which wouldn't be at all unusual - except she does it for a long time! She has also had some vomiting bouts, maybe evey 2 or 3 days she will vomit a kind of yellowish-clear with tiny bits of her food in it. Yesterday I fed her at 5:00 p.m. and she vomited at 11:00 p.m. She only eats a ground raw chicken diet, with yorkie yummies treats. No table scraps or any other treats. When she sits here by me, I can hear her tummy gurgling, she kind of burps and then sometimes does the licking thing. No poop problems though. Does this sound like food allergies? I'm wondering if the raw diet isn't agreeing with her; the people I got her from 2 months ago said they had been feeding her the same food for a month or so. I'm open to switching her food, just don't know what to go to. She also rubs the sides of her face on the carpet and concrete - seems like I read somewhere that could be allergy related?? I'd appreciate any ideas or opinions! Thanks.

| How old is your little one? The only time mine have done something similar to that is when they've either had a loose tooth or a long strand of their hair stuck inside the side of their mouth.

| She's 8...she is a retired breeder and has already lost several teeth...so that could be a possibility.

Yorkie Talker | a few months ago sasha had the same problem with the vomiting and gurgling. she threw up a little bit for three days her vet said she had pancreatitis. he said that she got it from eating fatty feeds. He said that ceasars food has a lot of fat in it. so i would check to see how much fat she is eating. i know you said she only eats chicken but the gurgling is probly her stomache digesting fat. I would definatley talk woth her vet. Cause with Sasha, they gave her some fluids and put her on a very bland diet for a few days. I had to buy a special dog food from them called I.D. |
