Lucas has had a little bit of greyish-yellowish matter in his eyes for a couple of days now. Our pug had dry eyes and sometimes got "gook" in his eyes but I had medication for that, so I'm not unfamiliar with dealing with eyes, just not sure what is causing it in Lucas' eyes. I'm wondering if he has a cold or if one of my kitty-babies scratched him? I have an older cat who is unpredictable and I did hear Lucas squeal the other day (didn't see what happened but no blood!). How long should I wait (or should I not wait at all) to take him to the vet? TIA.

I'm not sure how long you could wait, but I probably would make an appt. for as soon as I could get in. If the gunk were red-tinged (from red yeast bacteria, or even from beet pulp as an ingredient in their food) or clear, I wouldn't be worried....but since you say it is yellow'ish, that would signify the possiblity of an infection to me. To be honest, I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to eyes!
